Park-Free

July 1, 2011 - Kisses from Katie will be providing parking passes to families spending extended periods of time in the PICU at Yale.  With our programs we want to “take the edge off”, and I’m sure you can imagine how burdensome and costly parking can be at a hospital.  We are excited to have the opportunity to help remove one stressor from families that have so much on their plates already

Gettysburgians Unite

June 11, 2011 - Ten years ago we could never have envisioned the path our lives would end up taking- the twists and turns, the highs and lows.  Vickie had just graduated from college and was a first year teacher in Fairfield. Alan was a senior at Gettysburg College and filled his days working on the Campus Activities Board.  His friend and colleague planning events on campus was Pam Mezzasalma (Chaney).  After graduation they fell out of touch, but reconnected recently, and immediately Pam was back making a difference. This past weekend was her baby shower and with the help of her friends and family they made over 120 pillows with dozens more partially completed.  It’s so humbling to have Pam use her special day to support Kisses from Katie.  It’s testament to the person she is and the mother she will be very soon!  Special thanks to Pam’s sister, Tara, who coordinated the event.  It’s people like this that allow Kisses from Katie to serve so many kids.

Bridget's Heart

May 15, 2011 - 3 years ago a little girl that Vickie used to teach had the idea to take the proceeds from her birthday and donate them to KfK.  She asked for donations to KfK in lieu of gifts and bought cart upon cart of fabric for pillows.  3 years later, that same young woman continues to altruistically use her birthday to support our small organization.  Bridget is an amazing girl with a huge heart!  This year, we have used Bridget’s contributions to buy more pillow supplies.  Taking things a step further, Bridget is now spreading the word about the organization by providing every party goer with the newest, HOT PINK Kisses from Katie t-shirt.  There are girls all over Fairfield sporting this very sharp KfK paraphernalia.  Bridget, you epitomize all that is pure and good in the human spirit!

Chip's Pancake Dinner

On Tuesday, March 8, 2011, Chip’s Family Restaurant in Orange, CT, graciously held a fundraiser for Kisses from Katie.  Their pancake dinner was $10 per person, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Kisses from Katie.  In just a quick 3 hours, KfK raised almost $2,000.  What a success! Third Annual Toy Drive

December 10-11, 2010 - Thanks to many of you, this Holiday Season will be a little brighter for children at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital and Bridgeport Hospital.  Yet again, we collected well over 1,000 toys and significant monetary donations to support our programs.  People’s willingness to give never ceases to amaze us. Second Annual "A Night to Remember"

Kisses from Katie held their second annual “A Night to Remember” on November 6, 2010.  The weekend marked the second year anniversary of Katie’s passing, and was a great way to celebrate Katie’s life while raising money to provide resources to critically ill children and their families.  Over 110 KfK supporters attended the event at the Hilton Garden Inn, in Milford, CT. Cork Women's Mini-Marathon

For the second year in a row Katie’s grandmother, Antoinette, organized a group of women to participate in the Cork Women’s Mini-Marathon, held on September 26, 2010.  This year’s group included participants from last year’s walk and some new friends who joined in for a great cause. [ more ]

Corporate Volunteer Day

July 15, 2010 - Sightlines, LLC recently held a volunteer day during their annual company meeting and they were thoughtful enough to partner with Kisses from Katie for their event.  A large group of volunteers worked tirelessly all day to make pillows, and by day’s end they had completed over 250 pillows with another 100 more “in progress”! TGI Friday's Dinner

April 15, 2010 - Kisses from Katie partnered with TGI Friday's for a fundraising dinner. Kisses from Katie received a portion of the proceeds from each table who handed in one of our flyers. A BIG thank you to everyone who came, enjoyed dinner that night, and helped make the event a success! We had a great time seeing so many people come to our event. We appreciate all the support!

Laptop Donation

April 5, 2010 - Kisses from Katie Inc. is excited to announce the donation of two brand new laptop computers from H&R Block.  This kind donation will allow us to start our fourth program at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, empowering the parents of sick children to research their child’s illness while never leaving their loved one’s bedside.  We are so grateful to our friends at H&R Block for their kind donation and we are excited to get our next program off the ground in the coming weeks! A special thanks to Archie Jackson and Mark Jurgot for working to obtain this donation for us. The New Haven Register covered this donation in a great article.
